Driving Profitability in Indonesia
Indonesia is the third most populous country in the world, the largest economy in ASEAN, and is on course to become the fourth largest economy in the world on PPP basis by 2050. However, it is also a graveyard of MNC aspirations, because of a tough operating environment. Red tape, corruption, cumbersome regulations, protectionism and administrative issues have kept the country from realizing its potential. At the same time, MNCs have also been hampered by their inability to understand and cater to customer needs, and manage complex logistics in the vast archipelago.
In this session, we will explore whether the recent attempts to modernize the laws governing investment and job creation have improved the operating environment; and how can MNCs navigate the complex regulatory, competitive and social landscape to run a profitable business.
