Business by Design

The adoption of design thinking by some of the most innovative companies attests to its effectiveness. In essence, it is about designing things – products to employee onboarding process – with end-users in mind. In practice, it is hard as it requires breaking the old habits, learning new ones, and importantly, a very different culture.

We invited Jan Auernhammer, Executive Director of Human-centered Business Design Research, Stanford University, to explain what design thinking is, the barriers to its adoption in traditional organisations, and how can they be overcome.
